Latest trends in kitchen backsplash

Installing tile walls in a kitchen here!

There are many great trends that I’m interested in using my design but that’s one of the most interested ones in a kitchen in tiled walls. It is true that we are talking about the recent concept of Backsplash design. Going up, tile everything, and framed in the window.

I have been saying for years that a simple path to high design is through the use of tile. I love tile and use it in almost every design to create a kind of look for each of my clients.

This year’s trend is to take away the idea that backsplash has been installed in the kitchen only under the cabinet. Instead, we are taking a swing over the cabinet and being brave dare to cover the entire wall.

As you heard it correctly, the Backsplash has now gone to the wall and almost any tile will work for this application. However, if you want to keep your design evergreen my advice to go with white subway tile.

I love its versatility, cost, and subway tile for a high design look. It comes in multiple sizes which makes it easier to create different looks and it is available almost everywhere from tile shops to home development centers.

When looking for a traditional subway is nothing but classic 3×6. Installed in a 1/2 set pattern this tile is almost evergreen you can get. If you want to punch it a little, use a dark grout to line pop. You can play with other sizes such as 2×4 or 4×8.

Then my favorite 3×12 white subway. This size takes us away from traditional and more modern looks. It is also a great size to use if you want to set it on a herringbone pattern but it is as beautiful as installed in a 1/2 or 1/3 pattern.

Bottom line If you’re looking for that wow factor in your kitchen it’s time to make the big and bold, wall-to-wall, and tile your focus! Whether it’s the evergreen subway tile, mosaics, or any kitchen’s full wall tile can transform a basic design without your full kitchen remodel.
